How to Make Passive Income With a Blog Website for Free

By
Creating a website and monetizing it to make passive income is probably one of the most straight forward things you can do to make money in this world. The best part about such a strategy is that you can do this without having any start up cash. Yes, you heard me right...you can build a website and make money from it without having to spend any money.
Get a website
First let's understand how this process works. The first thing you will need to do is get a website. Actually, before you can get a website you will need to decide on a name for that website. Pick something related to one of your hobbies. Let's try something like "make-alot-of-cash" and go from there. A website name is like your mailing address. No one can find your website if there is no address, right? OK this key part is done, so what's next?
Buy a domain
Once you have decided on a name for your website you will need to purchase a domain. This is basically how you get the www. and the .com part of your address. So if you purchased a domain for your site it would cost around $11 per year and it would look like this www.make-alot-of-cash.com">http://www.make-alot-of-cash.com</a>. Once this part is done, you can move to the next step.
Get hosting for your website
Once you have chosen a name and purchased a domain for your site you will need to set up hosting. Hosting is basically where all your content for your webpage will be stored. This is where you will put your pictures, backgrounds, and other files related to your website. You can estimate hosting to cost around $5 per month.
So as it stands you have spent a one time payment of around $10 and you will be paying around $5 per month to get hosting fees for your site. But, wait....I did say you could do this for FREE!!! Here is how.
Why Pay When you Can Do it all for Free
Instead of purchasing a domain and paying monthly for hosting, you can skip this part of the process by going to some free blog websites like WordPress and Google's Blogger service. Both of these programs give you free webpages AND they will also host your pages (drumroll) for FREE!!
They are simple to set up and you could be up and running in minutes. I did some webpages for a while back in college but I actually got started again recently by creating a Blogger webpage. Once I got the hang and feel for it and made some money, I moved on to creating another webpage which is now my main site.
Check out Blogger or WordPress and you can get started with your free webpage today.
Monetize the site For Free
I saved the best for last and this is the last thing you will need to do anyway. There is a very popular money making program called AdSense which is run by Google. With this program you sign up with Google and if accepted Google will place relevant ads on your webpage.
If you have a site about dogs, Google will place ads about dogs on your website. You will get paid every time someone clicks on one of your AdSense ads. I signed up for AdSense and got my first commission in less than two weeks. This is not a bad return for something that cost you nothing to put together.
I currently use AdSense on my sites and nothing is more fun than logging in to my AdSense account and seeing that someone clicked on one of my ads and I earned my commission.
So if someone were to visit my page right now and click on my ads, I would get paid. And the best part is that this is all free so the money is all profit.

Three Free Methods to Promote Your Website

By
Let's face it anyone can start a website. And the internet is full of examples of this fact. As an owner of a website what we really want is for out site to stand out. We want traffic! So, we have to concentrate on the look, feel and content of our site. I suggest first deciding on the niche you want to occupy. That is what you want your site to be about. Once you've done a little research into your niche you can really make some ground on the look, feel, and content of your site. But, once we've decided on these factors what can we do to make traffic want to come to our site? Luckily, there are a few different options that you have at your disposal for promoting a website. I want to talk about a few free options that we have.
The first free promotional method, and in my opinion, the most important, is having your site search engine optimized (SEO). This of course goes along with your content decisions but, with the back door of your website administrative controls you can alter these at anytime. And the content of a well traveled site has got to be in a state of continuous refinement. Thanks to search engines the right keyword usage on your website can make all the difference. With a good SEO plan you can make companies like Yahoo and Google work for you. As search engines it's their job to match people with content rich material on the subjects of their searches. Search engines employ computer programs called spiders to "crawl" around the web and compile lists of search terms and their locations on the internet. If you take the time to make your website content rich with somewhere between 5 and 10 percent keyword saturation you stand a much better chance of being noticed by these spiders.
Spiders connect the web for reference so, the more links to your site you have out there, the greater web area you cover for the spiders to notice. To this purpose we can employ social medias like Twitter and Facebook as our second free promotional method. Social media offers us the ability to promote our sites among our friends, fans, and followers. After all, shouldn't everyone you know know about your business. You need to be careful promoting your business on a personal page, however. Facebook will block you if you promote to much on a personal page. You can get around this for now by posting sparsely in reference to your business. But, for me the best way around this is a Facebook fan page. This will allow you to set up a page dedicated to your business while posting links to your fan page on your personal page. Thus allowing you to keep your friends and fans up to date on your business.
The last method is writing articles to promote your website. There are quite a few article publishing networks out there. Most of which you can join for free. All you have to do is meet their requirements for article submission. This method works in a couple of different ways. First, we are meeting the spiders requirements of multiple links back to our sites thus helping our search engine rankings. Each article you get published is able to be re posted by you or anyone who views it. Again increasing the number of links back to our sites because anyone who re posts an article must post it as it was originally published. That means all of your author information and hyperlinks get re posted with it. Secondly you are joining a community of people who write articles for the same reasons as you are. A percentage of these people will inevitably read your articles and follow the links. Hopefully being converted into sells.
As I said before, as an owner of a website, regardless what kind of site it is, all we hope for is good quality traffic. These are by far not the only methods of promotion but, they are some of the easiest and again they are free. Hopefully with these methods or some variations of these methods you will find success promoting your website and getting that all elusive, quality, convertible traffic.
