Webmasters always dream of the day when their site will get its first 1000 visitors. It is a well-known fact that we need at least a few thousand visitors to make money from our blog. There are many search engine optimization techniques which are not so effective in bringing the traffic to our site from Google organic search results. With all this hustle and bustle at Google, more than half of the webmasters have quit blogging rendering their site useless after wasting both time and money in its creation and promotion.
Believe it or not: if you do not know search engine optimization you should not be in the blogging world. A good well-structured site is the basic requirement for having a good site which will bring a lot of Google traffic to your site. Gone are the days when people built huge number of links and cheated Google by showing that they are very good at marketing and getting high targeted traffic from Google. Now it is pure content which can probably save your site on the internet.

The first free promotional method, and in my opinion, the most important, is having your site search engine optimized (SEO). And the content of a well traveled site has got to be in a state of continuous refinement. Thanks to search engines the right keyword usage on your website can make all the difference. With a good SEO plan you can make companies like Yahoo and Google work for you. As search engines it's their job to match people with content rich material on the subjects of their searches. Search engines employ computer programs called spiders to "crawl" around the web and compile lists of search terms and their locations on the internet. Each article you get published is able to be re posted by you or anyone who views it. Again increasing the number of links back to our sites because anyone who re posts an article must post it as it was originally published. That means all of your author information and hyperlinks get re posted with it. Secondly you are joining a community of people who write articles for the same reasons as you are. A percentage of these people will inevitably read your articles and follow the links. Hopefully being converted into sells.

For example, if your key words are about baking, recipes, and selling sweets you want to be connected with sites that are similar. The PageRank spiders do explore the content on your site and the sites you are connected with.
